What's New in Oxygen Feedback Cloud 3.0
March 16, 2023
Version 3.0 of Oxygen Feedback Cloud offers exciting new enhancements for the modern comment management platform that provides a simple and efficient way for your community to interact with and offer feedback about your content.
There are changes in:
Content Indexing and Search Functionality
Content Indexing
A new Content Indexing and Search section was added in the
Version Settings page within the administration interface. This new
section has an option to enable or disable content indexing functionality. Note that the
content indexing functionality requires the output to be generated using Oxygen WebHelp
version 25 or later.
Automatic Re-indexing
When content indexing is enabled, the indexing is automatically triggered every
five minutes (when there is a change in the content). There is also an
Index button in the Content Indexing and Search
section (within the Version Settings page) that can be used to trigger an
indexing. It also shows information about when the content was last indexed and how often
the indexing will automatically be triggered when there is a change.
Multi-Language Support for Indexing
There is a new option in the Content Indexing and Search
section (within the Version Settings page) where you specify the language
that the search engine will use for indexing. There are numerous different languages to
choose from.
Searching WebHelp Responsive Output
When content indexing is enabled for a site's version, the corresponding
WebHelp Responsive output will use Oxygen Feedback as the search engine
when users search the published content. If content indexing is disabled, the search will
be performed using the JS Search Engine bundled in the WebHelp Responsive
output.
Page Ratings
Display Survey for Users to Offer Reasons for Negative Ratings
The page ratings component was enhanced and you now have the possibility of
displaying a survey when a user gives a negative rating for a page. This allows your users
to offer anonymous feedback explaining why they gave your page a negative rating. Various
options for the negative ratings component can be configured in the General
Settings page within the administration interface.
Display Like/Dislike Icons Instead of Text Responses
You have the ability to choose whether to display like/dislike icons instead of
text responses (e.g. Yes and No) for the page ratings
component.
Page Ratings Statistics Table Improved
The statistics table in the Page Ratings page within the
administration interface was improved. The table now includes columns that show the number
of both positive and negative votes for each page. It also now includes a Feedback
messages column that shows the number of messages that were posted by users and
if the number is greater than zero, the number is a link that opens a dialog box that
displays all the messages posted for that page and version.
Email Notifications Now Include Negative Ratings Information
The daily email notification that contains information about the pages that
were rated within the past day now also includes the number of messages registered as
negative ratings. The specific messages can be viewed from the statistics table in the
Page Ratings page.
Complete Configuration Possibilities for Negative Page Ratings
The General Settings page within the administration interface
was redesigned to provide more configurable options, including the possibility of
displaying a survey component in the output for collecting negative feedback from users
and the possibility of configuring the options that are displayed in the survey when a
negative vote is registered. The site admin can configure the following:
- The title of the negative ratings survey component.
- The options displayed in the survey that the users can choose from when offering their feedback.
- The placeholder text for the form that is used to collect feedback.
- The privacy note that is displayed in the output.
- The text for the button that is used by your community to send their feedback.
