19.0 | |
10:50 - 11:30 | User assistance with Schematron - George BinaGeorge Bina - Syncro
Soft Schematron is a very powerful tool and it can provide impressive
results for assisting users to create high quality XML. In this session George
will explore a number of use cases for Schematron and related technologies,
covering creating an intelligent style guide and helping users learning an XML
language by leveraging their knowledge of some other format.
11:30 - 12:00 | Coffee Break
12:00 - 12:40 | Changing XML with XSLT and XQuery - Radu CoravuRadu Coravu - Syncro
Soft XSLT and XQuery are first class citizens inside Oxygen. Not only do we
help those developing them but many of our features are based on these
technologies. For example, for Oxygen's Author mode you can create specialized
actions based on XSLT and XQuery/Update scripts. "XML Refactoring" is another
powerful and flexible feature through which you can change XML documents. It
offers a set of predefined operations but users are free to create their own
just by XSLT and XQuery Update scripts. In this presentation, we will cover:

13:00 - 13:10 | JATS support in Oxygen - Wendell Piez, Piez Consulting

13:10 - 13:20 | Testing XSLT - Radu CoravuRadu Coravu - Syncro
Soft Unit Tests are an essential part in the XSLT development process
because they ensure that you don't alter existing functionality during the
project's lifespan. The XSpec framework is a great tool for writing such tests,
which is why we integrated it into Oxygen. In this presentation, we will cover:

13:20 - 13:30 | Authoring support for development languages - George BinaGeorge Bina - Syncro
Soft The visual editing for XML that oXygen provides can be leveraged to
provide surprising support for development languages like XSLT, XML Schema,
Relax NG, Schematron, etc. Let's discover the visual editors that oXygen offers
for XML development languages!
13:30 - 15:00 | Lunch Break
15:00 - 15:40 | Making XML editable on the Web - George BinaGeorge Bina - Syncro

15:50 - 16:30 | Discover the Oxygen collaboration platform - George Bina, Radu CoravuGeorge Bina, Radu Coravu -
Syncro Soft Discover a new product from Oxygen, the Oxygen Collaboration Platform,
that allows you to share and collaborate easily on creating and reviewing
structured content. Learn how you can easily involve other people to work
collaboratively on XML content, without any software installation and using any
device – just follow a link using a browser.
16:30 - 17:00 | Coffee Break
17:00 - 17:50 | Using Saxon JS - Wendell PiezWendell Piez - Piez Consulting
Services Using SaxonEE in oXygen, you can compile your XSLT stylesheets
and deliver them over the net for execution by SaxonJS (a Javascript library
available from Saxonica) in a Javascript-capable web browser. An XML-based
application can be delivered within a small, configurable HTML wrapper, which
calls the scripts and identifies the source file and (compiled) stylesheet. The
compiler supports XSLT 2.0 with a useful subset of proposed XSLT 3.0 features.
But SaxonJS offers more than XSLT 2.0 in the browser: it is able to bind XSLT processing to nodes and events in the DOM. This makes it possible to program interactivity in display, all with XSLT -- no Javascript. If you know XSLT but have never enjoyed shifting gears to Javascript, pushing the boundaries of behavior in the web browser becomes fun and easy. A few small applications will be demonstrated. To make it easier to try yourself, a set of XSLT stylesheets to produce standalone XML, a pre-coded shell HTML page, and an XSLT 3.0 "starter" stylesheet ready to compile and run under SaxonJS (and further enhance), will be offered on GitHub.
