9:30 - 11:00 | Saxonica users meetup - Michael KayMichael Kay -
Saxonica This session is your opportunity to meet the Saxonica development team
and to ask us about your burning issues with the product, to share your thoughts
on how to get the best out of the product, or to raise requirements for future
developments. We'll introduce the session with a quick round-up of where we are with Saxon 9.6 and with the other products such as Saxon-CE and Saxon/C, and the work in progress towards Saxon 9.7. But for the most part, this will be a question/answer/discussion workshop, with the topics set by the audience. If there are things you'd like us to cover, then let us know in advance ( mike@saxonica.com ) and we'll come prepared. But otherwise, just turn up and join in on the day. We want to get to know our users better, so if you're prepared to spend five minutes telling us what you are doing with the product, we'd love to hear.

11:30 - 12:15 | Refactoring XML documents with XQuery Update and XSLT - Radu PisoiRadu Pisoi - Syncro
Soft When a problem is identified in a set of documents, it may occur
multiple times (sometimes up to thousands of times). In order to fix such
problems, we need a way to change those documents in a controlled way, and we
can do that with XSLT and XQuery. However, we need to keep the same
serialization and formatting of the documents, as much as possible, and this is
a bit of a challenge. Radu will present the new refactoring support that allows
you to apply XSLT and XQuery updates on documents, while trying to preserve
their initial content. This can be used through a simple user interface, built
on top of available scripts that also allow casual users to take advantage of
available refactoring actions.
12:15 - 13:00 | Quick Fixes - Octavian Nadolu & Nico KutscherauerOctavian Nadolu & Nico
Kutscherauer - Syncro Soft / data2type Identifying an error is only the first step in correcting a document.
You also need to understand the problem and perform actions to fix it. Quick
Fixes offer a choice of possible actions that will automatically fix a reported
problem. See how Oxygen implemented Quick Fixes for XSLT and XML documents and
discover Schematron Quick Fixes (a language that allows you to define your own
quick fix actions). | |

14:30 - 15:15 | Using XQuery to define Oxygen authoring frameworks - Claudius TeodorescuClaudius Teodorescu Claudius explores a new way of creating Oxygen frameworks and custom
actions by using XQuery to automatically generate all Oxygen configuration
files, custom action definitions, binding various events, etc. This allows you
to easily manage complex frameworks with hundreds of actions and was
successfully used in a project to implement a user-friendly interface into a
dictionary. | |
15:15 - 16:00 | Guiding the author by using contextual hints and actions - Alex JitianuAlex Jitianu - Syncro
Soft Every company has a best practices guide, but it's impossible to learn
it, by heart, before starting to write. The best approach for this challenge is
to dynamically provide hints, based on the context in which the user is working.
The document becomes the entire interface and guides the user through the
authoring process. Alex will show you how to achieve this goal by using features
that are already available, as well as a few new ones that are coming in version
17.0. These include:

16:30 - 17:15 | Web-based XML authoring - George BinaGeorge Bina - Syncro
Soft Web-based authoring was presented at XML Prague last year on mobile
devices. See how this has evolved, along with a few sample applications of this
technology that makes XML authoring and review accessible across platforms and
devices. | |
17:15 - 18:00 | What is next for Oxygen? - Panel - discussionPanel - discussion Meet Oxygen developers and see what is planned for the future. Ask any
question and we will be happy to respond. Share your feedback with us and with
the other Oxygen users! |
