00:00:06This video provides an introducton
and details of how to use the Oxygen
00:00:10AI Positron Assistant add-on.
It provides a powerful tool to
00:00:15help writers use AI-generated content.
To install the add-on, I'll go to Help->
00:00:21Install new addons.
I'll type positron in
00:00:25the filter box to narrow the list.
Notice the 2 different iterations and you can
00:00:30only have one or the other installed at once.
Note that the Enterprise iteration is for
00:00:36those who want to connect to their
own OpenAI or MS Azure account.
00:00:41In this case, I'll select the regular add-on. And
I'll proceed through the installation wizard.
00:00:54After restarting, the add-on contributes
an AI Positron Assistant side view that
00:00:59contains a variety of AI-powered actions.
When the chat area is empty, the actions are
00:01:05shown as buttons directly in the view.
They can also be found at all times
00:01:10in the Actions drop-down list.
Some of them have a settings icon to
00:01:15configure options for the particular action.
This action instructs the AI to generate a
00:01:21short description for the current topic.
You can see the response from the AI server
00:01:27in the Chat area and actions are available
under each response depending on the action,
00:01:33for instance, you could preview the
response, or copy it to the clipboard,
00:01:38or "insert" to add the AI-generated
short description in the document.
00:01:45Next, we'll intentionally create
some grammar problems ...
00:01:49and select the paragraph ...
00:01:57and then we
can use the "Correct Grammar" action.
00:02:02This time we'll click "preview" ... and it opens
a file comparison where you can clearly see the
00:02:07changes that the AI suggested ...
and if you agree with the changes,
00:02:12you can apply them.
Next we'll select a paragraph ... and
00:02:18choose the "Improve Readability" action.
00:02:28You can use the box at the bottom of the view
00:02:32to refine the response by sending a message
to the AI platform and it will generate a
00:02:35new response based on your message.
You can click this icon that appears to
00:02:41the right of the response to edit your
message or send further instructions.
00:02:49We'll click replace to insert
the generated response.
00:02:53The toolbar also includes a clear chat
button and a history drop-down offers a
00:02:58way to quickly select a recently used action.
For complex instructions that the AI may not be
00:03:04able to accurately complete without further
assistance, you can click the Record Examples
00:03:09button in the Actions drop-down. You can provide
a set of instructions for the AI to follow.
00:03:16and after clicking the "Start Recording" button at
the bottom of the dialog box, you can then execute
00:03:21a series of actions in the editing area that
will serve as a collection of examples to help
00:03:26the AI process the complex instructions.
For example, in our case, we're showing
00:03:32the AI how to convert text that looks
like menu items into a menu cascade,
00:03:32which requires consecutive uicontrol elements
that are wrapped in a menucascade element.
00:03:51Then, after clicking the "Stop Recording" button,
you have the ability to save the final result
00:03:56either as a favorite chat prompt ...
or as a custom Positron action.
00:04:01After giving it a name, a description,
and configuring the action, you would
00:04:06click "Save Instructions"...
... and it creates a JSON file
00:04:09that defines the action and that action
is now available in the "Other" section.
00:04:15To test it, we'll select content that
contains text structure that we want to convert
00:04:24and click the new custom
action,
00:04:29and we'll choose Replace
00:04:32and you can see that it converted it to the
complex structure that we recorded.
00:04:38If you save the recorded instruction as a favorite
prompt, it will be available in this drop-down menu at the bottom of the view.
00:04:45The add-on also contributes an AI
00:04:47Refactoring action that can be used
to refactor multiple files at once.
00:04:52In either the DITA Maps Manager or the
Project view, you can select multiple files,
00:04:57right-click, go to Refactoring, and
select AI Positron Refactoring.
00:05:04In the resulting dialog box, you
would choose the AI action.
00:05:08In my case, I'll choose to generate a short
description. I'll click Preview ...
00:05:15 and it opens another dialog box where you can preview
the proposed changes for each selected file.
00:05:21I'll click Update to process the operation.
And I'll open of the files to show you
00:05:27that a short description was inserted.
